Filler Masterbatch

Filler Masterbatch is a type of additive used in plastic manufacturing to reduce cost and improve certain physical properties of plastic products.

What is Filler Masterbatch?

Masterbatch is made by dispersing colorants or additives into a carrier resin (usually the same polymer as the final product). It is supplied in small granules or pellets and mixed with raw plastic during processing.

Filler masterbatch is a mixture of:

  • Base polymer (like Polypropylene or Polyethylene)
  • Filler material (mainly Calcium Carbonate)
  • Additives (for better dispersion and processing)

Composition

  • 70–85% Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃)
  • 15–25% Polymer carrier (PP/PE)
  • Small % of additives (lubricants, dispersants)
